SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s samurai epic Like a Dragon: Ishin! is launching worldwide on February 21, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam. The announcement was made ahead of the Tokyo Game Show. The Standard and Digital Deluxe editions for the game are now available for pre-order.
The game is set in 1860s Kyo where a solemn samurai’s fight for justice stands to change the course of Japan’s history forever. Players invited to their blade and join the revolution in this historical adventure.
The game expands on its 2014 Japan-exclusive predecessor with localization support, all-new content, remastered graphics and enhanced capabilities for modern platforms made in Unreal Engine 4.
It will feature four different combat styles: Swordsman, Gunman, Wild Dancer and Brawler. Weapons will vary wildly and so will skills as players advance in the game.
All digital pre-orders come with three bonus legendary weapons: the Kijinmaru Kunishige katana, Black Ship Cannons and Tsuyano Usukurenai legendary katana. Pre-orders for the Digital Deluxe edition on all platforms grant five days of early access starting February 17, 2023.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is also releasing Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name worldwide in 2023, and showcased a new teaser for Like a Dragon 8, the sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which is launching in 2024.
