Square-Enix announced September 15 that a free demo for Valkyrie Elysium, a new action-RPG, is now available to download exclusively for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PlayStation 4 (PS4) consoles.
Players can now experience the action combat mechanics and begin their journey through the first section of the game as the protagonist Valkyrie in this new entry of the Valkyrie series.
The story follows a young Valkyrie entrusted with the fate of the world by the All-Father, the highest of gods and ruler of all creation. She will face various enemies on her quest and must utilize a variety of weapons, magic, and the power of her allies to prevent Ragnarok—the destruction of the world.
The Valkyrie series is a long-running RPG series that has drawn on inspiration from Norse mythology to create unique worlds and complex narratives. Music is drawn from series regular Motoi Sakuraba (Star Ocean, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Golden Sun, and Dark Souls) while incorporating a fresh, new direction with classic combat mechanics, including finishing moves and combo systems, reimagined for an action-RPG.
Players’ save data will carry over to the full game at its console launch on September 29, 2022, provided its on the same console played.
